Update: so I finally got to take some new pics this morning, the previous ones were just from the craigslist ad

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

and here's the Craigslist ones again

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

So I've been pretty busy for the last few months with school and work that I haven't posted much.

It's been about 2 years now that I've had to share a cr-v with my brother and over that time I've "decided" on so many different cars that I would buy if I had the money, and every time, it always came down to that... I was flat broke.

This morning while procrastinating my paper was different though, I was browsing Craigslist for e36s on a reccomendation from a friend, and I realized I finally had a decent amount of money to play around with.

A few phone calls, hours, and beaters later I ended up with the most pristine 250k mile, 20- year old 325i, or really any 20 year old car. (I later found out it is from Florida, explains the wonderful lack of rust on 99.5% of the car )

Upsides:

- Lifetime warranteed Bilstein shocks

-viper immobilizer and remote start

-flawless interior (working power windows/sunroof, heated seats)

-nicely integrated kenworth sound system

- 2 sets of tires (summer and snows)

-full documentation

-bike rack.

Downsides: automatic, blown head gasket, screwy vanos, needs breaks, I don't like the chrome e46 wheels.

After a quick pit stop in the Capitol of ct, it stalled out in my friends driveway. Once I got it warmed up it managed to make its way from to UConn on very low power, but no stalling issues once I got going.

Bottom line:

I managed to get such a good deal on it because the previous owned didn't know the head gasket was blown that I can afford to buy the m50& getrag my friend has sitting in the garage so I can get rid of the autotragic! Hoping to get a bit of the work done this weekend pending finished exonomics and philosophy term paper headway.

Good for you. Econ major myself. Procrastinating. I just did the math tonight and by the end of the semester, I will have written 122+/- pages. I have no idea how that shits going to happen.

yeah i like the rims themselves, but theyre actually chrome, but these are just the pictures off craigslist. They look much better in these pictures, in person they look much more flashy.

I feel you man, I'm probably on my way to at least that much, especially with philosophy and law classes thrown into there. Don't get me wrong, i dont mind writing essays, my course load is like 80% written, but boy would i kill for a multiple choice test every now and then

i got a little time to sit on it at least, he gave me an extra set of snows on the original alloys along with it, so those will be going on this week because winter is coming and this is the first RWD car Ive owned. seeing as it is now snowing in storrs already, ive got a feeling its gunna be a long one

Nice ride. Those are the wheels I've been looking to get for my 325i. I'll trade you my wheels for them.

hey! welcome to the e36 club! I Bought a '93 325i last year. It was very much not pristine though, so I've been getting a lot of experience in fixing stuff on it. They are fun, even if not so fast in a straight line.

It's no fun. At that point you are just taking a math class.

Indeed. It's called mathematics for economics. And I'm on track for D. I need a B+ avg to continue. Oh dear.

Thanks! My friend, his girlfriend, and a few other people they know have a bit of an e36 crew goin up here at Uconn, and since I finally had a little money to play around with and he was with me craigslist car procrastinating, he convinced me to look into them.

and trust me, i'm sure you've been getting pretty handy. Luckily for me, the same friend who convinced me to get this one also has had about 20 e36s in the past, from coupes to Ms and every state of repair in between.

Luckily this was a florida car so it has like 0 rust, and the only problems right now seem to be a blown head gasket, so I can just put my money into the engine and not cosmetics

—- BTW I posted some of my own pics this morning, you should check them out

nice! Keep us posted here, I've never done a head gasket on one, but would love to hear how it goes. I'm off to look at the pictures.
